12 weeks pregnant and m/s getting worse!

Hi everyone,

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and my m/s is just getting worse.  I don't understand.  I thought it was supposed to start getting better around this time.  I know everyone is different, but how is everyone else feeling?  I'm thinking about calling my doc on Monday if things stay the same.  Any recommendations?  Similar stories?

Thanks!

  • I'm almost 11 weeks and today is the worst I have ever felt. This whole week had been bad. I'm now throwing up every hour and unable to keep even water down. I hope things get better for both of us soon! Have you looked into getting Zofran? Good luck!

  • Oh no, this scares me.  I have had bad m/s for the past 5 weeks that got progressively worse.  I have finally started to feel like things are getting better the last few days and was hoping that would continue.  I guess we will just have to wait and see.  I hope you guys feel better soon.

  • Mine subsided and then this past week it got worse again.  My cousin told me that it was almost like someone flipped a switch at the end of her first tri and all of a sudden she felt great.  Hopefully this works for us too!

  • Sorry to burst the hope bubble.. but with DD I was super sick.. and it lasted until 26 WEEKS!!   I'm really hoping this time around I get some sort of a break but its not looking like it..

I hope you have better luck!

  • You're gonna hate me because I have had NONE...THIS TIME.  I deserve it though because LAST TIME...OMG!!!!!  I was hospitalized several times so God gave me a break this go round.  BUT all of that is to tell you that mine didn't get better until the 4th month so HANG in there and just know that you may not have as much weight to lose on the "tale" (tail) end.

I can suggest avoiding ANYTHING spicy!!!  Also, eat before you go vertical.  When you wake up, eat bland crackers to line your stomach.  Many people told me ginger ale, but the bubbles made it worse. (It got so bad that if I bent over to tie my shoes, I'D THROW UP!!! UGH!!!!!  I am tearing up remembering it!)

They finally had to prescribe me supossitories to keep me (and the baby) from starving!  So take heart!

  • I know how you feel. I have felt my sickest this past week. I have read that hcg peaks around 12 weeks, and then diminishes once the placenta starts to take over. Hopefully this is the case and relief will be soon.

  • Thank you everyone for your kind words and hopeful responses.  I'm really hoping that raspberry bride is right and that this week the Hcg is peaking and the sickness will begin to fade soon.  I'm a teacher and school starts back up a week from Tuesday, so hopefully it is better by then.  Not sure how I could feel like this and teach.... Hope everyone feels better soon!
  • I am right there with ya! I hit 12 weeks today and today has been the worst day since like 8 weeks! The last few days have just been crap which was so disappointing because from about 9 1/2 weeks had had started feeling minor improvement until the last 3 days. Its so frustrating to feel like u may've just had the rug pulled out from under you and thinking well who knows now how long this will continue!!!
