I have a cousin named Anna Kate but that is her first and middle name. Everyone calls her by both names though since her parents have since she was born.
Personally, I don't think it sounds right to me when there are two middle names, which is what it would sound like if you added a middle name to Anna-Kate.
Also, if you name her Anna-Kate, she is more tied to using the full name her entire life vs. if you just named her Anna Kate. She might decide when she is a teen or young adult that she just wants to be called Anna and while she could do that if she was Anna-Kate, I just think Anna Kate makes things easier and gives more options.
So long story short, I vote for Anna first name and Kate middle name and just call her by both names and everyone else will do the same.
I'm also naming my daughter with a double first name! Not some of the PP's style with a mention to the hick reference I've decided on Shelby Kate, but decided against the hyphen. I'm giving her my middle name Louise since its a family name. I suggest going with a family name for the mn... it makes it special!
Sorry, but I don't agree with the other girls. If you give your daughter the fn Anna and the mn Kate friends and family may very well call her using both names, but at school they more then likely won't. I'm a teacher and have taught many children with two names, so I know that it will be easier on my daughter to be named what she will be called.
