Re: husband

  • We chose from family names that we really loved and it just ended up working. DD has a French name (from my side) and our current pregnancy will have an English name (DH's side). no stress.

  • My boyfriend and I are both Italian so we didn't have this problem...but it was difficult to decide on a boy's name.

  • I understand - I would LOVE to sneak some of my Irish heritage into our little girl's name, but I haven't found anything that DH even remotely likes. I'm still trying, but if he doesn't love the name he doesn't love the name.
  • I understand not being able to agree or go through a name discussion without stress. I have to say I am jealous though because you have many good names to enjoy!

What are the names you are both throwing out there?

  • Well, DH is Iranian, I am American, and we live in Italy, so we definitely have a lot to compromise on.  There are some names that exist in all three languages, so we have been looking for more.  I think it is important that the name be easily pronounced in all three languages, which leaves out anything starting with "h" for example (Italians can't say it).  It's definitely a challenge!

Have you tried looking at names that exist in both languages (perhaps in slightly different versions)?  In your case, there should be quite a few.
