Ideas to share the news with my sis

My sister is having her 10th birthday on September 3rd. I'd like to use this as a chance for us to tell her she'll be an aunt, but I'm having a hard time coming up with something. There isn't much aunt related stuff out there for 10 year olds... any ideas?

i don't really have any real suggestions. my sister is gonna be 19 on sunday and i was just gonna get her a card that was a normal sis card and sign it from DH me and my dog(who she already calls her nephew) and include a u/s pic. i think that's how i'm gonna do it but DH brought up a point. will your sister be mad if you decide to use her birthday as announcement time?  some people hate being upstaged or having any attention away from them on their special days. just something to think about. You obviously know her better so if you don't think it will be a problem then that's fine. what about getting her a bib or something that says "my aunt rocks" or a onesie with the same thing?

Yeah, the bib or the onsie I might do, or maybe an aunt card. We'll be having our 10.5 week ultrasound right before we see her, so I can include a picture for her. I definitely don't think she'll feel upstaged. My parents already know, though we may be using this as an opportunity to tell my brother and SIL. My sister has been asking when we would have kids for years! I know she'll be thrilled with the news. It may be hard getting her not to share with everyone else though!

We're sharing with DH's young brothers and sisters next weekend and I think we're gonna do an ice cream get-together with printed m&ms as a topping. We're getting them printed with "Gonna be an uncle" and "Gonna be an aunt"...

When my sister had her birthday, she already knew that I was pregnant but I wanted to do something simple for a present (plus we're on a budget). So I went to the craft store, got a plan white t-shirt, iron-on letters and some colored flower iron-on decorations. On the front, I spelled "Future Aunt" and on the back I put "2012" and then ironed on blue and yellow flowers, since we don't know the sex of the babies yet. My sister turned 16 and I'm not sure how excited your sister would be seeing that she's 10 but its definitely a cute and easy idea.

I love this one! It's much cuter than DH calling his 17-year-old sis and asking how she felt about being an aunt. Not the most exciting way to tell her but she does live pretty far away.
