I have not cooked a real meal since Rylee was born either. My sister was here this week and is a great cook. She made lots of food including these yummy stuffed shells that she put in the freezer for me. I fully intend to make them for DH in a week or so and take credit for them, she said I could.
I think giant bows and headbands look silly. Sorry guys
Edit - But I do think your LOs are all super cute still!
I used to think the same thing!! I always said I would never put LO in big bows...
The huge flower in my siggy was specifically for the picture. The old me would have hated it.. I don't know what happened. She has all sizes though and I love them all!! It's so addicting! I wont buy myself new shoes but I will buy her a million bows!
Haha It's definitely possible I would change my tune if I had a girl!
I laughed at people who put giant bows on their babies heads before I had a baby, had a girl and I still hate them. I will never, ever put one on my baby's head (not that she'd let me she hates anything on her head- if you try to put a hat on her and she'll scream bloody murder- she's going to have a long, hard winter.)
I never wash my hands after changing my LO. If I get poop on my hand I just wipe it off with a wipe. Also,I am in the camp of germs (as long as it's not someone who's knowingly sick sneezing in her face) are good for the immune system development. So my FFFC is that I don't make people use hand sanitizer before touching my LO and I don't freak out about kids touching her. Also, the neighbor's dog licked her hand the other day which she promptly stuck in her mouth and it didn't phase me.
My FFFC - If I have nowhere to go, I spend most of my day in bed, in my pajamas, and I don't bother showering (unless it's been like 2 days, then I just start to feel gross and will shower, but not bother washing my hair). Of course I'm spending time with LO also, but we play, talk, nurse, and then he'll nap on me in bed. A few times a day, we do floortime/tummy-time on his playmat. I have started putting him down in his crib for 1-2 naps per day, but right now he's in his crib, and I'm still in bed, b/c all my stuff is in here (which is mostly why we spend so much time in here, I don't want to bring my boppy, laptop, water bottle, etc downstairs and back up again each day.
This is me except it's my iPad. My laptop is giving me the blue screen of death, grr! I'll only go downstairs where my desktop is if I know I have a bunch of emails to reply to, work on/edit photos, or my SD is here. I feel like such a hermit, it's way easier this way!
I'm another one who doesn't always wash my hands after a diaper change.
Jumping on the band wagon! I'm a BIG gagger! Ever since I was little, I'd gag about anything and everything! Well, not so much since LO was born! A few weeks ago I changed DSs big poopy diaper and I know I had poop on my hands. I do wipe them off with a wet wipe. Well, after I finished my sandwich for lunch, I picked something out of my teeth and tasted the Desitin! Gross! I guess I forgot to wash. Sometimes, though, if B's screaming his head off, I won't leave him to wash my hands, I'll wait til I put him down or he falls asleep.
I don't understand the hairbows either. I always feel bad for the LOs with bows bigger than their heads!
I don't wash after diaper changes, I just keep hand sanitizer on the change table and use that.
I have to go back to work on Monday but I really just want to bw a SAHM. I am pissed because I was the only one working for a year (throughout my pregnancy)when my DH was laid off and that was fine with him (he didn't even get unemployment). Now that I want to stay home with LO for a year DH is giving me s**t about it even though he makes more money than me now. I am going to go back to work for a few weeks until I finish paying the hospital bill but that is it. I am thinking about quitting and telling DH that I was fired or laid off

DH and I are like this. I have video of the cat licking the kid's hair. He also licks his hands. The dog licks the kids hands, and will sneak a lick in on his face if he can get away with it. The IL's live on a farm... there's no getting away from dirt there!
There are actual studies that show a link between the recent surge in underdeveloped immune systems and sanitizer use.

Yep and I've read studies showing that kids that grow up with pets have less allergies as well. I see so many babies essentially in "germ-free/anti-bacterialized everything" bubbles and I think it's ridiculous. At some point they are going to come into contact with germs whether it be at daycare or in school or whatever. If their immune systems are underdeveloped then they are just going to spend half of their time sick.
I am another in the anti-hairband/bow camp. I think the photog put them on Stella in some of the newborn pics and that's about it. My mom bought me some and they are still in the packages. My SIL gave me a hard time about not putting bows/bands or cute little hats on Stella...because 'she's a little girl, you're supposed to do that'...of course, I wanted to say, you're a wife, you're not supposed to be wh0ring around...but that's not my business just as how I accessorize my baby is not her business.
My FFFc (of course, it is Saturday now): the one time I did eat dinner this past week, it was actually just two slices of bread. Oh...and the Klondike bar I put into a bowl to eat last night while holding baby. Being back to work is exausting and as soon as I got home at night DH handed her over to me and I'd hold her until it was her bedtime and I'd be too exhauste to eat something of subanstance and just go to bed myself.
