33 weeks and still...

jogging 3 miles every morning! Woot-woot! Going sloooooooow, but still, I am proud of myself for pulling my tired butt out of bed every morning at 6am, and heading to the gym:-) Definitely has helped my mood, and my digestive system. Plus, I have made some friends at the gym. Funny how no one talked to me before, but now even the old guy with the bad attitude about the tv's never working on the treadmills, is pleasant. Funny, how a baby makes people nice! Hope to make it for a few more weeks!

Re: 33 weeks and still...

  • Good job!! Keep it up. I walked 3 miles the morning that I had my baby. I still gained 60 lbs throughout my pregnancy, but thats a different story. They say keeping active will help with easier labor. Well, my contractions started at 4 min apart and I was 5 cm by the time I went to the hospital ( 15 min drive)..in 4-5 hours I was 8cm..I ended up having a c-section, because baby was breech and too big..but I think my labor was very fast. I think keeping active and walking every day helped a lot. I always though as  FTM I was going to labor for hours and days..but everything happened so fast..The last month was very hard to motivate myself to keep walking, with the 60 extra pounds I had gained and a huge bump (baby was born 10 lbs 2 oz)..Enough about me, I was just trying to show that you should keep it up and walk until you cant do it anymore. You're doing great!!

  • Good for you! I've noticed this--before I would bust my arse and the gym and noone would even aknowledge your there---people not breaking a sweat would take their sweet time clogging up machines and gabbing ect. Then you walk in with a watermelon hidden under your shirt and everyone is telling you you're a rockstar and make sure that they're not in your way.

  • Good for you, I ran until 20 weeks and then switched to swimming. I just got so uncomfortable. I had people ask me how I was swimming? I felt like saying the same way I always swam lol

  • Great work! I cannot imagine how I would feel (mood, lack of flexibility and mobility, digestion) if I had not been working out this entire pregnancy.  It has been my saving grace :-)

I just ran two miles this morning at a pretty fair pace and felt great when I got back.

  • Great! I am still running about 8 miles every day too. I've definitely gotten slower but I still enjoy the exercise. Makes me feel normal.

  • SFAug07...you are my hero!  Awesome!

Four knee surgeries keeps me in the short distance category but I love hearing about all of you other runners - keeps me motivated that it's safe to keep jogging!  I have my 3rd 5K of this pregnancy next week - can't wait!
