So I can't believe Sophia's birthday is 2 weeks away It went way too fast. We are having a luau and I need side dishes. We are going to do pulled pork, hot dogs, sweet potato fries and .....
Some type of salad. Maybe a fun summer-y salad like the one with strawberries from Panera?
I recently did "Salad on a stick" for one of my parties. Skewered a cherry tomato, mozzarella ball and piece of roasted red pepper. Put them all on a platter and drizzled w/ balsamic syrup and sprinkled basil on top. They were delicious and looked great!
Corn on the cob is always a great cookout side... notsomuch in keeping with the luau theme, but always a crowd pleaser.
Or maybe a cous cous salad type thing. I ate one from Wegmans yesterday... just cous cous, diced tomatoes and garlic oil. It was yummy and the whole time I thought... this would be great for a cookout!!!
I saw these fruit kabobs on Pinterest, and I think they're adorable! I would probably do strawberries instead of raspberries and cantaloupe instead of oranges.
If you're doing pulled pork I would do a coleslaw on the side... I love coleslaw w/ bbq (and especially on my pulled pork sandwich)
You could make a pasta salad w/ shell shaped pasta... it would be cute w/ the luau theme.
Her actual bday is the 3rd right? I think dd and her are bday buddies?
Last yr we had it on Labor Day weekend too bc we did it with a lot of people. This yr we are doing it smaller and are doing it the Sunday before. Which I just realized is only 1 week and 1 day away, (and I am going to be on vacation for 4 of those days leading up to it) omg!
I am doing:
Veggie Tray and Fruit Tray from Sams
Cheese-Its (only bc they have letters on them and I have a letter theme!)
Pulled Pork with Sandwich rolls
Mac n Cheese
Baked Beans (my mom is making)
Pasta Salad (my mom is making, but I forget and I am pretty sure when we talked about it she said she would do a mac/pasta salad but now that I am writing it, it might be potato salad)
Re: Birthday party menu help
