It's a hefty investment with the doubles kit, but I've seen flash sales a lot. And if this pregnancy keeps going as planned, I may take advantage one day.
It's okay if you can leave it set up at the house, but I would not rec getting it for the car. PITA to fold. Also no suspension at all, so good only for smooth surfaces. But handy with two, as you can reconfigure seating positions, even enroute, or as kids needs change.
This is good feedback. I think you've talked me out of it! I know this board is full of stroller questions, so I'll look into those to see if I see something I like. I have a looong time, so I have lots of researching to do. thanks again!
Well I love mine! I don't think it's awkward at all. I love that it can be a single or double. It's really easy to fold, IMO. It was one of the best purchases I made after DD was born!! Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions about it

We have an Explorer (bought after a brief dalliance with the City Select). I originally had decided against it because DH and I are tall and I was worried we would bump the jump seat, and because you can't really use the basket when both kids are in it. But I live in a big city, walk EVERYWHERE and have to navigate a lot of ramps and stairs. The CS was simply too unwieldy, and we bought the P&T. We do sometimes bump the back of the jump seat, but it's ok.
The pros of the P&T are that it really goes anywhere a normal single will go, without too much more effort. If you walk a lot, particularly if any of that walking is on uneven terrain, it's completely worth the investment.
Check out the Mountain Buggy Duo for a narrow side by side or the +one for an in-line. I have the MB Urban Jungle for DS but will be upgrading to the +one when DS#2 arrives. I adore the Urban Jungle, it's amazing. Folds down incredibly easily, lots of space in the basket, drink bottle holder/cooler for Mum, mesh and zippy pockets, the recline is amazingly easy (way easier than P&T) and it really goes anywhere.
I live in an alpine town so mountains, lakes, snow, tussock and lots of off roading. Seriously I've pushed this pram through foot high tussock and 6 inches of snow and it takes it. Out of 10 Mums in our Mums Group, 7 of us have the exact same pram!!!
The main thing I love about the +one is that the child in the seat behind is actually above the child in front so they can both see out ahead. Though it's expensive it comes with the cocoon for tiny baby and the second seat for when the second baby is bigger.
Re: Thinking about a Phil and Ted stroller
i think it sucks.
awkward- no basket room. did i mention awkward? oh yeah, way overpriced.
i went with the Kolcraft Contours Tandem Optima. it's got so much basket room that i want to move in. bam.
