I am getting ready to go through my first FET. I was told that it was going to be oil shots taken about every 3 days. Can someone give me some insight on what to expect, what kind of side effects (mood swings, bloating)? We are still waiting for AF but would really love a heads up of what to expect.
Thanks!

Re: FET what to expect
Some doctors begin the FET cycle with some form of suppression, some don't (mine doesn't). The next step is to thicken the lining with estrogen, which can be taken either orally as pills, as skin patches, or as injections. Estrogen usually continues for 2-3 weeks. You will then be told when to start the progesterone (either supps or injections) on the day that would correspond with ovulation (i.e. for a day 3 transfer, 3 days before transfer). After transfer, you just continue on the estrogen and progesterone and whatever other meds your RE has you on.
In terms of side effects, I get headaches from the estrogen and then the progesterone does its usual thing (bloating, mood swings, the usual loveliness:)
Good luck!!
