I know there's "large" crayons, triangular crayons (supposed to promote how to hold pen/pencil/crayon), plus the little animals that hold crayons (I think there's 3 animals/3 colors for $8).
I hadn't thought to try coloring yet (esp since we're trading in our portable eating chair and we don't have a dining table, so I'm curious when you introduced crayons/coloring and what type of crayon does LO use?
Thanks!

This is what DD has. She holds it in her fist to "color".
My mom has these at her house. We started DD with the animal crayons, but looking back I probably would have skipped them. She does just fine with the big crayons, the triangle ones, and the regular ones. She brings her coloring book to me almost every day and says "color, Mama?".
DD loves coloring! We started at about 14 months with the big triangular crayons. It took her a while to get the hang of it but now it's one of her fav things to do. She will use any size/ shape crayon - but I like the washable ones... I have to remind her to color only on paper!!
We got her an easel from Ikea - (only $15!!) with a roll of butcher's paper, a chalkboard on one side and a whiteboard on the other side. I think it's been my best purchase for her so far. Love it when she does a big scribble and tells me - Dada!
Since she was about 10 months, she LOVES coloring. We use regular crayons and her favorite is a set of toddler (crayon thickness) colored pencils.
We use the Crayola JUMBO crayons. They're bigger than the "Large" ones.
DD has been coloring for a couple of months, but just recently really started scribbling.
