Knitters

In an attempt to actually make the shawl from hell by the deadline for the county fair, I knit 11 rows today. At just under 300 stitches a row that's about 3200 stitches in one afternoon.

My hands and arms hurt.

At least the pattern is bottom up, so each right side row decreases by 4 stitches and all I have to do at the end is graft 16 stitches at the back of the neck.

I want Best in Show, dammit.

  • That one is gorgeous. I love that book, but haven't had the nerve to make anything out of it.

I'm doing the Dimensions wrap from Knit Picks. Mohair on tiny needles? It's an interesting experience.

  • I would have done Madli's shawl, but that was the pattern used by the lady who took the Best in Show last year.

  • It's in my stash on Rav... a light fingering weight alpaca in rose grey. I got it at a local alpaca farm, so we have met the critters who provided the fiber.
