Ear Piercing

Hey Ladies:

  I want to get my DD's ears pierced but our pediatrician (sp) does not do it. I wanted to go somewhere besides Claires. I have called a few jewelers but haven't found any place. Any suggestions? WOndering where others have gotten their DD ears done. Thanks ladies.

You can go to a Ear's, Nose and Throat Specialist they do it.  We went to one in West Bloomfield it was $45.

My general doctor's office used to do it the last time I was in there.

I know you said you don't want to go to Claire's... but...

Our pedi didn't do it either and our dr said we could go to Claire's without an issue.  So we did.  DD was only 10 weeks old when we took her and she never had one issue with them.  The person doing it marked P's ears first and made sure I was satisfied with the placement.  I had her change the placement of one of the ears 3 times before I was happy.  Now, at 10 months old, P's ears are still perfectly fine.

I've been wanting to do it for my daughter, but also didn't want to go to Claires.  Her current pedi doesn't do it and her old pedi won't since she isn't a current patient.  I called around and made an appt with Dr. Nowak out of Oakland ENT.  They charge $40.  She's in West Bloomfield and they don't need to be a current patient.  Her appointment isn't for a month though.

We went to the Piercing Pagoda. I suggest that you make sure ahead of time that there are 2 piercers on duty so you can get both ears done at the same time.

How are your girls after the piercings?  Do they pull at their ears?  How is the maintenance?  I have 16 month old twins.  I'd like to get their ears pierced, but not if it's going to be more work for mommy!  I remember getting mine done when I was 3 and I was so excited to take care of them and clean my ears/earrings!
