How much does a baby cost- with maternity appointments/care?

Hi all,

I was wondering how much a baby cots with maternity appointments/care? As in hospital delivery, etc. With private insurance, because H and I are self-employeed.

No idea--too many variables. C-section vs vaginal birth. High risk or no. Multiples or no. What your particular coverage covers. Bed rest or no (meaning loss of income). Etc.

Before baby, our total prenatal care cost us 1200.00 after our insurance paid.  The hospital bills:  I had an epidural and vaginal birth & only stayed in the hospital 2 nights.  That cost us about 2500.00 after insurance.  Our baby expenses per month are about 1100.00 and she goes to daycare M-F.  Look for a provider & hospital that is in-network with your insurance.  That helps to cut costs back as well.  Hope that helps!

You can also go to the website for the hospital that you will be delivering at. I know my hospital has a price list posted on their website for c-section, vaginal delivery and so on. I hope this helps some
