I read that parents choice has exactly the same nutrition and ingredients as Similac. I was wondering if anybody has tried giving both at the same time. Im not saying both in the same bottle, but like one feeding Similac and the next parent choice. Our next pedi appointment is in 4 weeks and I plan on talking to him about it, but was wondering if anybody has experience with parents choice..
TIA
Re: Parents choice vs Similac
Is there a reason you want to use both?
If you want to switch to Parent's Choice because it's cheaper but still have Similac left I would use up the Similac and then switch. While the nutrition is the same they are still different formulas and giving both could upset LO's stomach.

We switched from Similac to parent's choice. DS seems to like it a lot better. But what we did was switch completely over to parent's choice cold turkey. Our doc suggested we do this and if DS seemed to have any problems then he told us to do 75% similac 25% pc for about 2 days then 50/50 for a few days and then 75% pc 25% similac for another few days then go completely parents choice. We didn't have any problems going cold turkey, but if it makes you feel better discuss this with your pedi. If you really want to try to go parent's choice go to their website and request a free sample. This is what we did before we bought a can of it and was out any money incase DS had any problems. www.parentschoiceformula.com/

i don't have any experience with Parent's Choice, but just wanted to say that usually generics don't have the EXACT SAME nutritional makeup of a brand name. They meet the nutritional requirements from the FDA, but all formula's are slightly different from one another.
for example, here's the comparison between parents choice advantage and similac advance. notice the small differences, which can mean a lot (or nothing) to a little tummy:
We don't use Parent's Choice but Up & Up from Target (these two are exactly the same and branded by the manufacturer for each store). DD is doing better on the store brand than she was on the name brand, which is definitely a relief to the wallet.
As for switching formulas at meals, you're probably better off to finish up the name brand and then switch to generic.
Also. . . if you call 800-410-9626 they can give you coupons for Parents Choice formula!
We use both. I have a year supply of Patent's Choice that was given to us. We used Similac at the hospital and for a couple weeks to use our samples. We mostly use PC but also use ready to feed similac almost every night now, and as we get more samples we continue to use them. I have not gone so far as to use Enfamil also and just give those samples away. we have had no issues and she is 8 weeks.
