What could "Sunny" be a nickname for?

I think Sunny is such a cute nickname for a little girl, but I don't like it as a real name.  What names could it be a nickname for?

Thanks.

  • If she's a super happy child you can call her Sunny no matter what her first name is.

Summer is the only name that comes to mind that warrants "Sunny"

I like this idea. Example: My DD is Bronwyn, but her nn is Tink which she acquired when she was about 2 because she is sassy just like the Disney fairy, Tinkerbell!

  • I knew a Sonya whose nn was Sunny.
  • I agree with PP, Sunny can be a nickname that isn't attached to a name at all. I know plenty of people that have nicknames that have nothing to do with their actual name. I knew a Sunny and that was just her name - I wouldn't go that route though.

Sunny is really cute nn by the way :)

  • Although I wouldn't personally use Sunny, when I was pondering possible nicknames for our chosen girl name, it came to mind.

The name is Aurelia (which means golden... hence the connection to Sunny)
