I am just getting ready to return to work (Kindergarten teacher). I want to somewhat get my ducks in a row...and meal planning is one of my issue areas. I always end up blankly staring into the fridge or stopping by the market on the way home to grab something. I was thinking this would take some stress off as well as maybe save us a few dollars. Just curious wat others experiences were. Thank you for any advice. Also if you have any other advice I would love to hear it

Re: Anyone use e-mealz before/now
We just started using e-mealz 2 weeks ago. It's very convenient and takes all the guess work out of planning meals. It also leaves very little wasted food. Not all the recipes are amazing, but with a few tweaks we easily make them work for us.
I don't know how many you are feeding, but my only suggestion is to get the meal plan for 4-6, rather than 1-2. It gives 7 days of recipes, rather than 5, and you can pick and choose your family's favorites for the week. So far we are very pleased and I enjoy having one less thing to worry about every week.
Thanks for the info on up-ing the number feeding. It is just DH, me and DS but I could take left-overs for work. We do BLW with him. Do you think the meals are appropriate for him? I think I have seen you over on 6-9 you also do BLW right? I am always worried he may be getting too much salt or what not even though I do not add to my cooking.

This is a good idea after you ave been doing for a while. Do you eventually stop getting any new recipes and just keep seeing repeats?
It actually has helped me become more adventurous with BLW. The recipes are pretty bland to begin with so it's easy to cater to her. I think they do it that way so people can make it the way they like it. Some meal suggestions are for frozen or prepared foods like deli chicken. For those nights I either substitute something I can make myself, or I'll give her leftovers from another night. The meal plans also include a lot of fruit and veggies that are easy for her to eat.
My biggest problem with BLW was making dinner for all of us that she could eat without messing with her nighttime routine. Before I started solids, I made our dinner after she went to sleep at 7, and now, I was rushing to get something on the table at 6 that she could enjoy too. These recipes take 30-40mins with crock pot and breakfast for dinner options. It's been making things much easier.
I've never seen them repeat a recipe exactly but there are some that are pretty darn close. Additionally, some are things like "BLTs" as if you need a recipe to make a BLT. But, it does help just to have them suggest something even if it's really basic and they tend to make it so that you are using ingredients in multiple recipes. So, if one is BLTs then maybe they use bacon and tomatoes somewhere else that week as well and then I notice I have less food go to waste.

I just wanted to thank you for bringing the website to my attention! I love to cook, and we do plan out our meals/groceries for 2wks at a time (paydays), and it just feels like a huge hassle these days. This looks like a great site/service!
your welcome! I am opposite I hate to cook and am horrible at meal planning
I hope tis will encourage us to eat more at home as well as have much less waste. Good Luck with it.
