How often do you:

Fully clean the fridge and freezer, including wiping everything down?

Clean out closets and put things aside to donate or sell?

Clean the storage room or basement storage to purge things?

Move the beds, vacuum under them, and turn the mattress?

ha ha I'm with Buckeye....answer to all of the above is probably never or once  I try to keep a box out all the time I throw stuff in to donate but I haven't actually taken a box in 6+ months.

Fully clean the fridge and freezer, including wiping everything down?  Haven't done it since Ike in 08.  Power outage took everything in the fridge.  I don't want to tell you what I found behind the veggie drawer last weekend when I cleaned. 

Clean out closets and put things aside to donate or sell?  I purge at the end of a season when I move the new season clothes back in.  But I have other non clothes closets that need a good purge. 

Clean the storage room or basement storage to purge things?  Not in the almost 6 years that we have been in this home.  It looks like Babies R us down there.  Time for a garage sale. 

Clean the oven?  Grill?  Oven-tonight is the first time since before Thanksgiving.  Grill- every spring, but it needs it more since we use it all the time.

Move the beds, vacuum under them, and turn the mattress?  On the list for this week.  I know we haven't vacuumed in a year.  We flip the mattress every 6 months ish.

Clean out the dryer vent and outlet?  Yearly.

Wash or dryclean drapes or rugs?  Rugs-when they look soiled I will wash or steam clean them.  I hate dirty floors.  Pet peeve.  Maybe every 2 months.  Drapes...I am a slacker.  Never.  Need to do that.

Before Thanksgiving every year,since we host. And usually once in the spring.

Clean out closets and put things aside to donate or sell?

2-3 times a year. I put it aside but don't ever get rid of it. 

Clean the storage room or basement storage to purge things?

When it gets overwhelming. Usually 4x year.

Clean the oven?  Grill?

Oven, probably 3x a year, I do wipe it out if something like a sweet potato leaks in it. Grill, that's Mike's problem. Probably never.  lol.

Move the beds, vacuum under them, and turn the mattress?

I vacuum under the beds pretty often, I have hardwoods and high beds so it's easy. Turn the mat, maybe 1x year.

Clean out the dryer vent and outlet?

uhhh.....not often enough.

I am a purge fanatic.  My parents are hoarders, but their garage is horrid and I think that is part of the reason why.  DH is similar so I go through probably every 3-4 months and go through closets and pull things. 

If you ever need someone to help purge- call me!  I am more than happy to point out why you DONT need something.

Fully clean the fridge and freezer, including wiping everything down?  Fridge gets a good wipe down once/year.  I have yet to completely take care of our freezer.

Clean out closets and put things aside to donate or sell?  About once every 6 months, sometimes once/year

Clean the storage room or basement storage to purge things?  Um, we haven't.  We need to though. 

Clean the oven?  Grill?  Oven...  I haven't yet.  Grill... we use foil under everything, so I have no idea when dh last did it.  It is a newer grill though because our first grill was knocked down during the hurricane and busted to the point of not being worth repair.

Move the beds, vacuum under them, and turn the mattress?  Under B's bed?  Once every 6 months, and I turn his mattress when I change his sheets every week.  Ours?  We have a framed bed, and the supports underneath are individual 2x4 pillars (the original support beam collapsed about a week after we moved into our house... while we were sleeping of course).  So, I have never vacuumed underneath the bed complete, but I do take the hose vac to it with the longer nose.  As for flipping the mattress, it's a pillow top, so we turn it 180 degrees every 6 mos (we try to do it when we change the clocks)

Clean out the dryer vent and outlet?  Um, need to do this. 

Wash or dryclean drapes or rugs? We don't have rugs or drapes for this very reason.  That said, I do try to swiffer our blinds every few weeks.

Clean out closets and put things aside to donate or sell? Clean out closets - twice per year (spring and fall).  Put things aside to donate - I keep a bin in the basement and toss things in it on a regular basis.  I make a trip to Goodwill probably 4x per year.

Clean the storage room or basement storage to purge things? Once a year.

Clean the oven?  Once a month. Grill? Like a big clean where you take it all apart - once a year, end of fall. 

Move the beds, vacuum under them, and turn the mattress?  Turn the mattress - once a month. Move beds and vacuum under - twice a year maybe.

Clean out the dryer vent and outlet? Once a month-ish.

Wash or dryclean drapes or rugs? Curtains - I've never washed curtains I do take them down in spring and fall and shake them out, outside. Rugs - also never washed/dry cleaned.  The small ones get shaken out a couple times a month.  The big ones get vacuumed at least once a week but only get a big clean (rolled up and cleaned under, taken outside and shaken) like, once a season.

Seriously, I just feel dirty! And I thought I kept a fairly clean house before this poll! I'm answering from my phone so sorry for the massive block of text... FRIDGE/FREEZER: I wipe it out once every fee months and of course when something gets spilled, but the freezer gets neglected. CLOSETS: I purge mine regularly. The hall closet is a hot mess that hasn't been gone thru since we moved here 2 years ago. STORAGE: we just have attic storage for the most part and it hasn't been cleaned since before we moved in. Our house was my MILs and when she passed we didn't even clean out her stuff before addin ours to it! It's FULL! out of sight out of mind type of thin going on with that one! OVEN: I wipe it out when it gets something spilled, other than that...never! BEDS/MATTRESSES: We have our bed and a spare set. The guest room has so much stuff under it for storage that there is nothing that can even be reached. Our bed is so giant and heavy that it would have to be taken apart to be moved, so I clean as far under it A's the vacuum will reach. Our mattress is also a pillowtop so it just gets turned every 4-6 months. DRYER VENT: I should probably do this! DRAPES AND RUGS: we really only have a few throw rugs and the rest of the house is hardwood. I throw them in the wash every few weeks. The drapes should probably be attended to. I guess its been about a year for them.

Clean the oven?  Grill? Grill is DH's territory and he is anal about it so it gets cleaned almost every use-- the oven, since its my territory, has never been cleaned mainly because I don't know how to work the self-clean function haha I think about doing it often though, does that count?

Fully clean the fridge and freezer, including wiping everything down? Typically once a year. Twice if we have a major spill or lose power. But as things happen we wipe it down in there so I would say the fridge gets cleaned in increments more often.

Clean out closets and put things aside to donate or sell? Constantly. I am pretty good about this although I still have far too much clothing. But I am very good about taking at least one 30 gallon bag to donation every other month or so.

Clean the storage room or basement storage to purge things? We just started doing this preparing the basement for finishing. So 3 1/2 years.

Clean the oven? That's why there are self-cleaning ovens out there. :P But actually this new oven isn't self-cleaning. I wipe it down when I find a spill or something but I haven't properly "cleaned" it with oven cleaner and all since we installed it last November. But really I think they only need it every year or so, no? Grill? The grill is DH's domain so I have no idea.

Move the beds, vacuum under them, and turn the mattress? Vacuum under the beds? You're kidding, right? The only one that seriously needs it is the guest room because the cat hangs out under that bed. But K's is a daybed that's flush to the floor, DS's crib is simple to pull out and vacuum under so we do that every time, and our bed weighs a million pounds so it ain't gonna happen. But we do turn the mattresses every few months.

Clean out the dryer vent and outlet? I know we're supposed to do this annually but I am so bad about scheduling it. I should just schedule it at the same time I replace the water filter which is also annually. That way the vents will actually get done.

Wash or dryclean drapes or rugs? Drapes? Never. Rugs, we have a steam cleaner so that happens as needed.

Glad to see that I am in the majority.  I just let it go until it makes me nuts, then do it all at once.

Clean out closets and put things aside to donate or sell? Once a month. I am always looking for ways to create space & get rid of clutter. I can't stand it, especially in the closets!

Clean the oven?  Grill? We just moved into our apartment in January & I haven't cleaned the oven yet And we're not allowed to have a grill... ugh.

Move the beds, vacuum under them, and turn the mattress? Not as often as we should. I usually take the tools on the vacuum & try to get as much under the beds as I can. My FI is much better at remembering to turn the mattress than I am!

Clean out the dryer vent and outlet? My FI does this also, so I couldn't tell you because I have no idea!

Wash or dryclean drapes or rugs? I was our rugs about once a month. Drapes, whole different story!
