Start trying things to induce labor....i know alot of it might just be wishful thinking....but im willing to try anything (except castor oil). Im getting so anxious!!!!!!

I have some of the most intense contractions when I am pushing Ellie in her stroller It probably won't make a difference when you have your baby but it will make you feel good.

I felt the same way at 37 weeks so I started walking a lot, eating spicy foods, pineapple, everything except Castor oil and sex. I remember 27 weekers saying that you shouldn't do anything, but having been there and done that-I was done. I believe the baby will come out when he or she is ready no matter what you do, but it feels like you are doing something.
Nothing worked for me, not even induction. Better luck to you!
If i was kidding....do you think i would have asked smart ass?
Obviously i know 40 weeks....but im pretty damn sure that if i try some stuff she isnt gonna fall out....just trying to think of things to keep myself busy...
humor me....just excited and want to hold her

I started mildly at 37w and am kicking it up a bit last night and tonight. My midwife says as soon as you're full term, it's okay to try the normal things (sex, walking, massage, etc. NOT castor oil.)
I think hitting 37 weeks and knowing that they could safely be born now messes with your head a little. That being said I haven't considered trying anything to induce b/c I'm going to try those tricks once I get uncomfortable and closer to 40-41 weeks (hopefully I won't have to though!).
Your baby is going to come when it's ready. You can risk complications if you try to bring on labor using OWT. And yes, we all want to hold our baby, but why chance something going wrong?
Really, I had no idea she would come when she was ready.....I want my baby to be healthy or course!!! Again...humor me, i just wanted to know if there were simple things i could do such as walking, sex, stuff like that.....
I just know that my doctor told me that she is big enough and seems healthy enough to come at anytime.....

Yeah, I guess it depends on what kind of methods you are talking about. I don't think sex, walking, eggplant parmesan will hurt you, but probably won't help too much anyways.

Have you asked your Dr./midwife/whatever about this?? I think you're a little over-the-top. I have YET to hear of a Dr. that says "No!! Don't walk or have sex to try to get labor started!!" Most I've encountered (personally and through friends) say to go right ahead.
I was ready to go at exactly 37 weeks, but nothings worked for me. Still sitting here waiting.
The one thing we haven't tried is sex, but I just don't see that as being physically possible at the moment haha. I have a hard time standing up from a sitting position =/

I agree with this. I think that if your baby AND your body are ready, "OWT" such as walking and sex could *maybe* be the push that you need to go into labor. Either way, there's no harm in it, right? Walking is good for you and sex never hurt anybody [except Matthew McConaughey's father, apparently..].
It's not like she is taking Cervadil and Pitocin. My doctor knew that I was doing all that and was fine with it. True, she said it wouldn't work ,but it made me feel like I was doing SOMETHING. It is perfectly normal to want to get things rolling.
At least with a repeat C-section, I don't have to worry about this again. I don't want to go into labor this time.
I completely understand how you feel! I'm anxious too and personally don't see anything wrong with walking, eating spicy foods, etc. I think it's awesome that you're excited and ready!! Good luck!!!

I couldn't agree more. I think *most* (apparently not all) of us are having sex, walking, etc. after we hit the magical 37 week-ish marker to help us feel like we might be helping move things along. Nothing wrong with that at all ... no need for some people to be so negative.
I've been trying sex, walking, bouncing on the ball, red raspberry leaf tea, etc since 37 weeks (with doctor and doula's support and encouragement). As we all know, none of that stuff will put you in labor unless your body is ready. Heck, none of that stuff will necessarily even put you in labor on your DUE DATE if your body isn't ready! Trust me, I know!
I would just caution you against getting too excited too soon. Yes, your baby could come at 37 weeks...and some do...but you could also be waiting for 3-5 more weeks. I've been feeling "ready to meet my baby" for three weeks now, and I still have no signs of upcoming labor! Walking, sex, and all that are good...but make sure you are also doing stuff to get your mind off the baby, and the wait. Just my two cents!
I think when you're full term & the doctor or mw says it's safe for baby to come at any time, you're fine to try. They are worried about my baby getting too big, plus I was 1 cm & 50 % effaced last week, so the mw told me to walk as much as possible, take evening primrose oil, among other things. I am using acupressure and got a hardcore foot massage w/ my pedicure this weekend, plus I am eating as much spicy food as I can and bouncing on the yoga ball. How could it hurt? At the very least, I feel like I'm being proactive in avoiding a bs "big baby" induction or c-section. I don't know why that other girl gave you a snotty answer. She's a biotch!
All I know is that at 37 weeks... I'll be trying the OWT's myself. Castor Oil aside 'cause that just freaks me out.
Good luck to you!

You're kidding me right?
Just go walking! No castor oil necessary!
