I really could use some help getting on a feeding schedule. Do you feed breakfast at the first feeding and offer bottle after or do you feed bottle/nurse and offer breakfast at another time. Any sample schedules ( including how much) with naps would be great to see. LO is 6 months.
Thanks
Re: So lost when it comes to feeding solids
here's our schedule, but he's STTN. we're at about 27 ounces a day (5 bottles) and alot of solids (3x a day). he's a chunker! when we first started solids he would NEVER take the solids first, even though that's what our pedi recommended. it took about 2-3 weeks of 2 solid meals per day for him to entertain the idea of puree before his bottle. now he's on a pretty set schedule.
7 ounces between 6-630am. 30 min nap at about 8am.
4 tbs. of pureed fruit w/ about 2 tbs. of oatmeal between 930-10am
5 ounces between 10-1030. usually an hour long nap about noon.
6 tbs. of sweet potato between 130-2pm
5 ounces between 2-230pm. usually 30 min nap at about 4pm.
4 tbs. of pureed veggies with about 2 tbs. of rice cereal at about 5:30
5 ounces at about 6pm. sometimes a 20 min nap and usually a bath at 7ish.
4-5 ounces at bedtime. usually between 815-830pm. STTN.
That sounds great...and helpful I'm lost with solids. but DD doesn't wake up until 7 or 8 and is asleep by 8:30. I feel like I'm going to be feeding her all day
A few weeks ago we received our gerber checks/coupons in the mail and there was a nice picture handout that I hung on the fridge (mostly for my H and babysitter).
We start with a bottle in the morning (4 oz) she then goes back to sleep for hour or two.
For breakfast we mix plums/banana's/pears/apples or other fruits with outmeal and feed her that. She gets 4 oz of milk afterwards.
For lunch we give her a sitters container of a vegi and 4 oz bottle
after lunch she gets 1-3 bottles depending on her need (usually 2 unless she seems really hungry)
For dinner we do another vegi, maybe some oatmeal, and another bottle.
She then gets 4 oz before bed.
We have also started giving her one bottle of juice/water. Apple juice so far sometime in the middle of the day.
I feed her in the morning (7ish), then she gets cereal and fruit around 8. Pretty soon, I'll start an evening meal (so I'll nurse after nap around 5:30, then veggies and fruit around 6). I don't think I'll replace any nursing sessions for a little while still.
For now (times are rough):
7am wakeup and nurse
8:30 solids
9:00 nap
11:00 nurse
12:30 nap
2:30 nurse
4:30 nap
5:30 nurse
6:30 solids
7:30 bottle
8:00 bed
When she's on three meals, it'll look like this (I hope to have dropped a nursing session):
7am wakeup and nurse
8:30 solids
9:00 nap
11:00 nurse
12:00 solids
12:30 nap
2:30 nurse
4:30 nap
5:30 solids
7:30 bottle
8:00 bed
