New Cumberland Army Depot?

My husband and I are planning on starting a family next year, and I wanted to see if any of you had any info on the daycare facilities located on the army depot in NC?

Any reviews or pricing info?

Re: New Cumberland Army Depot?

  • I'm not familiar with the one at the Army Depot, but my son attends the one at the Navy Base in Mechanicsburg.  I have heard wonderful things about one in New Cumberland though

I love the center and the pricing is based on your income.  We pay $528/monthly based on our income and that includes everything but diaper/wipes which you must supply.  My son started at 6 months though they accept starting 6 weeks and up.

The one in Mechanicsburg usually has a waiting list, so if you decide to use the one in New Cumberland, tour it early in your pregnancy and get on the waiting list.

  • Yes, the bi-weekly rate is dependent on your household income.

When I was preggo I was working at New Cumberland and had put myself on the wait list fairly early.  When I came off of maternity leave, I started a new job at Aberdeen Proving Grounds and I put myself on the list here, however, their infant wait list was 7 months. So when you know your due date, go to the center and fill out the paperwork to put yourself on the list.

I did found out that if you do not use base daycare, you can apply for a subsidy program, NACCRRA, and use any local daycare as long as they are approved.  You can find the approval list on the NACCRRA web site or through your local child care information services (CCIS).
