Slings and other carriers

Hi ladies!

I'm having a very difficult time with my NB...she wants to be carried all the time!  I have a moby type wrap that she hates.

Is there a store that you can recommend that will help me pick out the best sling or carrier?  I would like to try them on before I make a purchase.

I don't care how far it is, I need my arms back!

TIA!!!

I don't know if A Woman's Work has baby carriers anymore, but they used to have a good selection in their old location.  I know Nurtured Family on 290 has some as well.

Heavenly Hold (a web-based business) has a baby carrier trial program.  Amber will mail you your selection - you keep it/them for 2 weeks and then either keep it permanently or mail it back.  If you keep it permanently the rental fee is applied to the final cost of the carrier.

Good luck - the "i want to be held all the time" period is rough, but it does end.

  • My DS never seemed to fit right or be comfortable in a sling.  I had a Baby Bjorn that was my Sister in Laws and it was uncomfortable for me.  I ended up getting the Ergo Sport and I love it.  He loved being in it with the infant insert, and now that he's 10 months I still use it whenever we travel to carry him easily.  It doesn't hurt my back or shoulders at all.

  • I went to Nurtured Family to get my ring sling. They were helpful and I got to try a Moby, mei tai, and ring sling before deciding.

I ended up getting a Hava, and I really love it!
