XP: which stroller for San Francisco?

Although I no longer have 2U2, I am posting here to get some input on double strollers :) ......

We are planning a long weekend in San Francisco with the kids.  They will be 3.5 and 18 months when we travel.  I don't think our Sit & Stand will cut it, since they can't both sleep in it and I don't want to go back to the hotel just for naps.  I am looking into a rental at this point.  Do you think the City Mini double or the DuoGlider would be better for San Fran? We plan to do the normal tourist stuff.

Thanks!

  • I'd say the City mini double.  Let both kids have a view.

If you haven't already, try booking alcatraz tickets now (if you want to tour).  They fill up fast!!

Thanks!  I've been there, but do you think the kids would like it? I"m sure they would like the boat ride at the very least :)

I would get whichever is lighter.  I had my double bob in the city once and I could barely get from the beach back up to my hotel on my own, some of those hills are steep!  I wouldn't do Alcatraz with kids that little.  I grew up just north of SF and have been there numerous times. For one thing, after you get off the boat you have to go up a steep hill to get to the prison and I don't see what about the prison would interest even the oldest.  If you think they'd like it I'd simply do a bay cruise.  Also sign up for SF Groupon if you don't already, they have tons of stuff to do at great prices.

Where are you staying?  I could recommend some nearby parks or activities if you're interested.
