We had the PNP in our room at first. Our bedroom isn't that big, and it took up a lot of space. Someone ended up buying our Rock n' Play from our registry, and I'm so glad they did. It's so much smaller, and I can rock her in it right from the bed.
So from personal experience with having a small bedroom, I would go with something smaller than the PNP.

If you have a small room, I would go with a bassinet because it takes up less space. They have bassinets with co-sleepers built-in, you might want to look at that as an option.
PNP. Why? Because when the baby outgrows the bassinet portion, it is a great "baby jail" lol. In all seriousness, a PNP is fantastic as baby gets bigger too. It is a safe place to put the baby while you take a shower, do some cleaning, etc. It grows with the baby, but a bassinet or cradle has a very short lifespan.

Agree. Whenever we go out of town DD#1 sleeps in her PNP. I think she has finally outgrown it, but at least we got 2 years out of it with her.
I was originally going to use the PNP in our bedroom, but then figured it would take up too much room. We ended up getting the Graco travel Lite crib for next to our bed. It's got the bassinet feature but then turns into a mini PNP for later use. It doesn't take up too much and comes up exactly level with our bed. We have the reg PNP downstairs for during the day.

do you travel at all? pnp would have the most use if you do, even if it's just to grandma's house.
or the cosleeper.
