2nd Trimester

Those that had headaches/dizziness in the first tri..

did it continue on to your second tri?

I get dizzy spells a couple times  a day no matter what I eat or when. There doesn't seem to be anything particular that's causing them. I know everyone's different but I'm wondering if I should expect them to go away at some point or get use to them for a while. Thanks!

Re: Those that had headaches/dizziness in the first tri..

  • I do.  I have really low blood pressure and my doctor basically just told me to deal with it.  She said that I am just one of those people that has to be more careful because I could be the one to pass out Tongue Tied She said to drink LOTS of fluids and really take my time when I stand up or change positions.  She said there is nothing else I can really do about.

  • Yes, I'm between 20-22 weeks and still get them, with near fainting involved. I am now, no longer able to grocery shop with my hubby to be, because I get horribly sick every time and not sure about school shopping!! I also overheat quickly. This preg. is so different from my last one, 14 years ago. My dr mentioned possible anemia, but it doesn't explain everything else, and like you, doesn't matter what/when I eat, and always take my prenatals, and stay hydrated. Good luck, hang in there, and talk to your doctor.

This. Recently is was so bad everything went black and although I didn't pass out I couldn't see anything for almost 20 minutes. It was scary.

Midwife said basically the same... Drink a lot of fluids, and if you get up to pee at night make sure to drink before going back to bed. Get up and change positions slowly, and don't spend too much time crouching down. If you need to stand in one spot for any length of time make sure the keep moving your legs so that the blood doesn't pool.
