what to do about spitting?

So, Sprout will do something not allowed, we'll tell him "no" and redirect.  After or during this sequence of events, he will look us in the eye and spit.  This is the only time he spits too.

besides "no spitting" (which just gets us another spit, btw) what can we do?

    I notice that when I tell N no as in "N NO!" he completely ignores me and goes back to doing it over again but when I say it in a different tone of voice it catches his attention and he knows I means business.  Maybe changing your tone?
