Clicky: What time does/did your 6 month old go to bed?

Silvie usually goes down at 8:30 and sleeps til 6 or 7 am, but last night she went down at 7:30 and slept until 7:30 am. Is 12 hours normal or should I just expect that to be a one time thing because she was exhausted?

And answer below if your LO doesn't sleep mostly through the night.

  • SS, some nights he will go down@ 7:30,  others not till 9:30. He keeps us on our toes. He usually sleeps for 12 ish hours, though some 9:30 nights he's still up at 7:30.

  • I chose 8-9. We usually straddle that 8:00 line. It depends on the day. Lately, she has been getting her bedtime bottle around 7:45 and in bed by 8. She seems to get the best sleep with an 8PM bedtime. Sometimes it is a little earlier if she gets cranky early, sometimes it is a little later if she is still very awake and active.
  • K typically goes down around 8:30, sometimes 8 if she's really tired and fussy.  She will sleep 10-12 hours a night.  Although I have heard that the later to bed, the earlier they wake up.

  • S usually goes down between 7:30 and 9:00.  We like the 8 pm time the best, as she seems to sleep until about 8:00 am regardless of if she goes down at 8 or 9.

  • At 7:30 on the DOT she wants to go to bed. I have no idea how she's so prompt. She'll go from happy to fussy at 7:30, then we change diaper, dress in pj's, give bottle, and dump her in the crib. She'll whine for one whole minute, then pass out. It's always like this, she is so predictable.

One night I had all the kids in my room watching Cars, giving them a bath one at a time. I bathed Adena first, dressed her in jammies and put her on the bed. I bathed the next, then the next kid, and when I came out it was 7:40 and she was passed out on the bed! LOL

  • We used to start our bedtime routine at 8pm, he would take his last nap at around 6. Then about a month ago he started sleeping right through his nap and not waking up till 2-3am. So we've moved his bedtime to 6:30-7 we start at 6 with bath time. He'll usually sleep till about 7-7:30am.

  • We usually put her to bed around 7 - 7:30 and she wakes up about 6 - 6:30.  If we have a really active afternoon I will put her down whenever she looks like she is getting tired (her eyebrows and nose get all pink - it is adorable).  Last week I had two days of putting her down around 6 and she slept until 6am.  She generally sleeps 11 hours at night with a couple of 12 hour nights occasionally.

  • DS usually falls asleep between 8:15pm-8:45pm.  It depends.  If he takes a 20-30 minute nap at 5pm, then he's up a little later, but most night he's out like a light by 8:30pm.  We started a nightly routine with him when he was 2 months old, and he seems to like it.  The downside is that he knows after tubby time and pj's it's time for his bottle and we better have that bottle ready!!!  He sleeps 10-12 hours which seems to work well for him.

  • DS is not the best napper so depending on when he woke up from his last nap at school, we'll start the night time routine as early as 6:15 or as late as 7:15.  On a typical night, we're up in the tub bout 6:30.  He sleeps throught the night and wakes up anywhere from 6:30-8:00.

  • We are going to regret this in five years or sooner when she starts school but my H and I both work 3rd shift and sleep during the day.  Our LO goes to bed between 2230 and midnight and sleeps till noon (sometimes one).  It works for us since we don't get home on our days at work till 7am and need to sleep until at least 3 to function the next night at work.  (we work opposite shifts except one day a week where she goes to grandparents, and they keep the same schedule with her).
