I've been on other boards before..but this one was a shock to me.

I'm 34 weeks and 5 days along, and my water broke on thursday. I really just thought that it was urine, but decided to go get checked out. Of course, they said i was fine, and to go back home. Friday night i was at dinner with my mom, and i was telling her about my leakage and how much it was making me nervous. so we went back to the hospital where they told me that yes, my membranes have broken, and they had to transfer me to a different hospital (nearly 2 hours from my house). They will induce me on my birthday (Tuesday) so MAYBE we'll share the same birthday. The doctors don't seem too worried about his health, and they don't think he's going to have to go to the NICU. I'm so stressed out that everytime i think about it i start to cry...but all i can do now is pray and hope for the best.

This board is a shock to everyone - nobody thinks they'll land on the Preemie Page! You're similar to me in that whole leaky thing. I thought it was pee, too! and the reason I thought that was because of all the talk of snizzing, pizzing, and etc etc on the 2nd tri boards! I wasn't thinking oh this could be my water! Well, you're in good hands and LO is still in you which is remarkable. Seriously, every.single.day. counts in there! One day is a rollercoaster in NICU so keeping LO tucked away is great. One tidbit of advice - they say probably no NICU, but prepare for it as a possibility as much as you can. I learned never to ask questions that they can't answer for certain. It's easier on the heart in the long run, I think.

thank you. today is better than yesterday, i'm not as stressed. and yes thats exactly how i'm feeling, the longer he stays in can only benefit him more. i am being induced tuesday morning, so maybe we'll even share a birthday!

and i'm assuming that you both had preemie babies? how far along were you when you delivered? how long was yours and your baby's hospital stay? were you as stressed out as i am? im sorry, i just need to talk to people who have been through it.
