Was thinking of repurposing DS's crib bedskirt to make one for his full bed. But I also have his bumpers and infant comforter that I have nothing to do with. I guess I could continue to use the bumpers against the wall for a bit until he gets used to a bed, but has anyone converted them to anything else? Pillows? I already have a valence, but I have seen them used as window treatments. His crib comforter may just sit folded at the end of his bed b/c I can't think of anything else to do with it.
Having to convert DS from crib to his full bed is making me realize how little of the "crib bedding" we really got to use, especially since we never converted to the toddler bed. The crib comforter was always folded over the rocking chair and the crib skirt we weren't able to use after we got the crib down to the lowest level. I am considering skipping crib bedding all together for #2 and maybe getting a full mattress set now, and trying to find bumpers to match.
Re: Changing crib bedding to other things?
I hung the qulit on the wall above the crib for decoration for DS1, and am doing the same for the twins this time (they are on opposite walls). We have pretty tall ceilings, and I think it balances the room. Even though I feel like I used most everything in DS1's set, I still didn't buy entire crib sets this time around either. Just get the pieces that you use.
As for reusing your current crib bedding, you could always contact someone that makes custom bedding (Etsy maybe?) and see if have any ideas?
