Ummm, mamabear, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on your allergy vs. sensitivity statement. Eczema, a rash resulting from atopic dermatitis, is most certainly allergy-triggered. Food allergies (NOT the same as lactose intolerance) to things like egg and milk are a very common trigger for this type of rash, especially in kids. An anaphylactic response is not necessary for a diagnosis of allergy to be made; a pediatric allergist can do a detailed history and skin testing to make that assessment.
OK, all I wanted to do was blow of a fraction of steam!! My mistake for thinking the ladies on the AP board, are more likely to understand the frustration. I cannot believe this got 1500 views. This is ridiculous and pathetic, and I will not repeat this mistake. You girls can be pretty fvcking cruel.
"Cruel"? There were 2 people questioning you and others giving you good advice. I think you may have trouble taking any sort of questioning/criticism. That may be the problem.
If you have grandparents doing the daycare, you are exceptionally lucky IMO. But it comes at a cost. So either nod politely and stop talking about all your AP philosophies (no one cares, let me assure you). Or get a new daycare situation.

It's really that simple.
Really, well one said I have no idea about my child's nutrition and implied I'm a complete moron, and the other likened him to starving third world children (whether she states that wasn't the intention or not). My child is not in daycare, so I don't know what you're talking about. It's as simple as my mother and my mother in law making pissy comments that annoyed me. So I vented. My mistake. I'm done with this.

I think people were questioning giving a 6 month old goats milk, which is ok. I think you're starting to sound nuts.
Why do you let it bother you? If you're confident in your choices, you shouldn't.
Because even if you KNOW your doing the best possible job of raising your child, being told otherwise can still sting.
It' not just about parenting. If you get a haircut you love and your friend says "I don't really like it, you shouldn't have bangs" her comment can bother you even if you still love your haircut and think it flatters your face. Child rearing is arguably the most emotionally charged thing that happen in our lives. Feelings can and do get hurt when people try to shoehorn their way in with different ideas and opinions.
I don't think i've ever asked for advice, complained, or invited discussion, especially to people I knew didn't share my parenting philosophies, but that hasn't stopped unwanted comments from some friends and family. Most of the time I do brush it off but it is annoying and can hurtful, even if that's not how it's intended.
OP, if you are inviting discussion, don't. If your not, try to brush it off, but I'm with you, sometimes you need to vent about it a little!
lol Why did you quote this as what *I* said? I think you messed up the quotes. I actually quoted this from someone else. O__O

As far as using goat's milk, in lieu of BM or a low-antigen specialty formula, I do agree with the statement that this is not part of the most current guidelines; this is primarily because goat's milk contains some of the same antigenic components as cow's milk. But, if it's working for this child and he's healthy/thriving, then that's what matters.
I will accede that Eczema can be caused by an allergy, but it can also be can also be an allergy to the laundry detergent being used.
Also, the OP never indicated that she ever took her son to a pediatric allergist. If she did, then fine, her LO could have an allergy, but the rest of my statements stand. But, I find it unlikely, since she refused to even accept another posters advice of seeing a pediatric GI specialist to help pinpoint specific dietary needs. I'm sure she took it to her regular pediatrician and left it at that.
As a momma of a boy with actual severe allergies, all I am going to say is excezma and diarrhea is NOT a severe allergy. When your kid stops breathing, then you can say severe allergies. Other than that, your kid, do what you want. But there are sooo many styles of parenting. Not everyone will agree with you. But if you believe you are doing whats best than do it.

My DS had a level one allergy to milk. It caused diarrhea and eczema. It was an ALLERGY. Not lactose intolerance.
Re: Do you ever get sick of the judgement?!
Thank you, very much.

I love that you went crying to the 9-12 month board about me.

I am sick of people using the British spelling of "judgement" instead of the American, "judgment."
No Canadian friends huh?
