3rd Trimester

Major bleeding

...when I poop. I've been so constipated and all the suggestions listed in the post further down haven't helped. I take 2 colace every night, I eat raisins and apples and apple sauce, drink almost 96oz of water everyday. Nothing helps.

When I have a BM, there is lots of blood in the toilet water and on the paper. I told my doctor, and she just recommended colace. What else should I do? It's very concerning ... and painful!!

(PS - I don't think it's hemroids...)

  • Um, time for a 2nd opinion.  JMO.  If

  • Um... I don't know if it is healthy or not, but I drink apple cider and eat two bowls of raisin nut bran....  GL
  • You should have that checked out.  You could have a fischer (tear in your rectum) that causes bleeding and pain.  Are you sure is not hemorrhoids?  No matter what it is its not normal.
  • I agree with PP.  Could be a fissure or maybe you aren't certain on the hemorrhoids.

  • Sounds like hemmies to me!

  • I have the same thing- I have internal hemroids - eww. I take 3 generic colaces at night. And nothing works better for me than a glass of 100% pure apple juice for easy BM's.

  • Lots of fiber, try raisin bran cereal for breakfast or the super high fiber one cereals, fiber one granola bars, they make low carb tortillas and bread that are really high in fiber.

  • Spinach salad works for me. There is tons of fibre in there. It does sound like  an internal hemmie.. They suck and they can bleed a lot, but it looks more scary then it is.

  • I don't have any recommendations other than a 2nd opinion. I would be concerned that my doc blew it off so fast.
  • I had that for like a week, they told me to drink green tea. An it helped.
  • I've had a few hemmerhoidal issues and my OB prescribed me with a cream called Proctosedyl.

I haven't had to use it but he gave it to me just in case. It's supposed to help with the pain and the healing.

    HTH!
