Bikini at Family Function? :S

I am heading up to my Aunt's for my Grandfather's 80th birthday this afternoon and it is SO hot! They are right on the lake and said to bring bathing suits if we want to swim, but I only have bikinis.

Is it weird to wear a bikini infront of your whole extended family while pregnant? I would totally do it anywhere else (I love my pregnant body more than my non pregnant body lol) but I'm not sure if that's something my grandfather really wants to see...  :S

I agree. Do you have some swim shorts you can wear over the bottoms? And maybe a nice little cover-up for when walking around?

Oh the bottoms are covered by a skirt, so its just like a medium coverage bra type top (no triangles of anything like that!) and then bikini bottoms with a matching skirt that I swim with on.

Maybe I should just throw a tank over the top??

This!  If it was immediate family I wouldn't worry, but there's no way I could bare the baby bump in front of my grandparents. lol.  I'm having to borrow a swimsuit from my SIL for our family pool party tonight.  Luckily, it's a tankini!

If you'd feel ok wearing it pre-pg, I say go for it now.

(I also think it is fine to BF in public without a cover.)

I am all for bikinis while pregnant.  But I am weird about bikinis in front of my family.  I always felt awkward wearing one in front of my dad or grandpa.  Yet I will go topless at a topless beach...go figure.  I would probably cover up.

Well I am VERY glad I brought a tank top for covering up!!! I had forgotten that my boobs have gone up two cup sizes and when I put my suit on I quickly realized that there is not nearly the coverage that there once was!!!! The lake felt soooooo nice though, and I was glad I brought a bathing suit because all of the little kids were super excited to have a grown up join them!
