VBAC

Rock and a hard place.. help!! :(

My family and.I may be forced to move to Virginia due to financial reasons. I'm really.... really trying to not hurt my chances of a vbac. Does anyone know of a good doctor in northern VA? Or how to find one? I looked on the ican site but its so confusing to me. Any help would be appreciated!!!

  • I went to my insurance provider network and searched for OBs (I too moved during my pg and want a VBAC). Once a list popped up of general OBs, I called and asked if he/she performed VBACs. It took a few calls but I did find a supportive one whom I met and decided to see for the remainder of this pg.

    GL!

  • northern VA is a great place to live! welcome!

i <3 paula mckenzie in alexandria. she is vbac friendly and delivers at Inova Alexandria. also, dr. tchabo is wonderful and delivers at Virginia Hospital Center in arlington, va. there are also a number of wonderful professional midwives who specialize in hbacs, if you are interested in an out-of-hospital birth. i can give you rec's for those if you'd like.

stay away from Inova Fairfax. it's a high risk facility and has very little experience with normal pregnancy and normal birth.

the local ICAN chapter is awesome. you should contact the chapter directors, jenn and allison. i don't want to post their emails here, but you can find it on the chapter's site. https://ican-online.org/chapter/search
