I know that wool rocks from you guys but I'm slightly confused about...do you put PJ's over the wool. If yes don't they get wet. If no don't your sheets get wet?
Stuff doesn't get wet. There's a chance there will be some compression leaks with PJs over wool, but plenty of people do it successfully.
Wool is very absorbent, and can absorb quite a bit of liquid (the inside of the fiber is hollow) before it leaks. And lanolin makes it more water repellent. So for example, DD was in a fitted with a soaker overnight. Her fitted was wet. The inside of her soaker was damp. And the outside was dry.
We mostly just use wool as her pj bottoms. Every once and a while we've put pj's over her woolies and never have had an issue, but I prefer to just use woolies because they fit so well over a fluffy bum.
Like Dr.L said, in the morning her fitted is wet, inside of the wool against the diaper is a little damp, outside is dry.
I do 1 piece jammies over wool wraps nearly every night. I've never had a problem with wet jammies, or wet sheets. Wool is absorbant enough that if you're getting that level of wetness, you need to add a doubler to your nighttime diaper. We use either a fitted or prefold, plus a hemp doubler under our wool. Works great for my girls.

I agree with pp. If for some reason you DO get leaks or compression wetness on the outside of the wool, it just means that the fitted underneath isn't absorbent enough for your LO and you need to add hemp doublers.
To answer your original question, we use the wool as the PJ bottoms and a t-shirt (not a onesie) up top.
DD wears wool as PJ bottoms and it works great. If I do put PJs over a soaker then I use fleece PJs because the fleece is an extra layer. I worry about thin cotton and compression leaks, but some people do it with no problems.
