Do you have a smart phone? If you do there are aps you can download and keep track of progress. I find it kind of motivating to see my progress. There's one ap that I know of that allows you to have friends who can leave comments about your runs.

Ladies, I need someone to hold me accountable. I don't know if I can do it on my own. Instead of 16 pounds to go, I now have 26.
I'm a fat nasty!
*cries*
It happens to the best of us! I'll be your online running buddy too and since we live in the same state, maybe we can train to run a race together. I live in Wenatchee and I training for the RunWenatchee 5K in Sept.
I'm in the same position! Now that I'm a SAHM, I never have time/motivation to run. I went for a run this morning and realized how out of shape I am. I think I might ease myself back into running via C25K.
10 lbs isn't really that much. You are the only one who can hold yourself accountable, trust me. When you start making those little changes, you'll get your body back in no time. One step at a time. I know for me it takes just a few good days of healthy eating and workouts to get back on track. You can do it! A positive attitude is the first step. Calling yourself nasty, fat and a cow isn't going to help you reach your goals- it's going to keep you unhappy and probably lead to more weight gain (thoughts become things...choose the good ones).
I wish I did. It also doesn't help that I hurt my knee. I was using Shape.com but I have been lazy. I walked 2 miles today and yesterday with DH. I probably won't be able to run tell next Sunday. =(
I'll just have to up my walking game and try to help my knee to heal. Than I plan to run, run, run, run. My new fitness goal is to lose 10 pounds by Halloween.
The best recommendation I can give is to get a gym membership at a gym that has babysitting... That will get you 2 hours (most of the time uninterrupted) time to yourself, and you're AT the gym, so may as well do something while you're there even if you only have a half-hour... It also gives the kiddos some social time with other kids which is good for them in the long run as well as seeing the priority of taking care of yourself and doing some physical movement daily even as an adult..
As for that knee - the best thing you can do is get properly fitting shoes and potentially custom orthotics (not the pieces of junk you can purchase from Target/Walmart/Shoe store), granted, they aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination however they are cheaper than trips to the MD/Chiro because of alignment issues... Also, a visit or two with the chiro to get things back in proper alignment. When my quads get dominant they will sometimes shift my knee cap out of place so it's PT into the mix, but I've done it enough times that I know what I need to do...
