For post partum how many pads did you like/need to have on hand?
I got a queen sized from PIMP and an Ultimax from HE to see which I preferred. I think I like the HE pads better for sure because of the super softness of the fabric. The PIMP one seems like it's going to be rough down there. LOL (I got the cotton cuz they were on clearance, btw. I COULD try the flannel). I only have 5 weeks left until baby so I wanted to be sure I had a little stash but just don't know how many pads to get... I have about 3 "regular flow" pads I got a while back on Etsy too.
I was thinking some that I can use after as well for AF after would be good too. Someone recommended Talulah Bean pads as well and they are minky so I'm thinking maybe trying there instead of HE to save a little $$ but I dunno...
thoughts? recs?
Re: XP: mama cloth-how many PP?
I made mine too, so I don't have recs. But I had a little over a dozen and that seemed like a good amount. I just threw them in my diaper load every day/day and a half.
Honestly, what worked best for me in the beginning was just two prefold diapers stacked on top of each other as a pad.
I used prefolds also (I have about a dozen HE also) GMD orange edge, trifolded!
My water broke at home and we had an hour drive to the hospital. The GMD were the only thing that I could think of that might be absorbent enough for that ride. I laughed when the nurse said I could hand her my pad and she could test that with the little strip of paper they use to make sure it is really your water broken. She admitted it was the first time anyone had ever had a cloth diaper in their pants!
