My girls were born one day shy of 37 weeks. Just wondering when you started tummy time? They still sleep most of the day. Yesterday for the first time, Fiona was awake between two feedings. When will they start staying awake more?
My twins were 37w 1d and they were pretty sleepy until a few weeks past their due date. I think. I don't really remember that much. I remember doing tummy time with them around Christmas and they were 6.5 weeks old at that point. We probably started around 4 weeks maybe?
Mine were born at 36w4d. The pedi said we could start tummy time right away. However, the babies HATED it. It wasn't until 4 months that we could get them to stay on their tummy for more than 1 minutes without a major meltdown. So, just do what you can but don't force it.
My girls were born at 37 weeks exactly. We started tummy time right away on our chests and at about 2 weeks old on the playmat. We do it every day after their afternoon feeding because that's when they're the most awake. We sometimes do it twice a day depending on how sleepy they are (they still sleep A LOT). They do great with it!
Our IVF miracles arrived on 7/20/11 at 37 weeks after 3 weeks of hospital bedrest!

Mine were 37w3d, and we were doing tummy time from 2 weeks oldon, every day. But just a little bit at a time, sporadically throughout the day. On the Boppy, on a mat, blanket, etc. Rolled them over when they fussed. And they were sleeeepy until about 3 weeks old, and then woke up more.

Our girls were born 37w4d. We did a little tummy time right away using a boppy. Then it was clear they really liked it so we did it more and more. Now they LOVE tummy time. Honestly sometimes it's the ONLY way they'll take a nap - they are actually sleeping on their bellies in the PNP right now! Of course we closely supervise them during all tummy time and thankfully they are content sleeping on their back at night!
After 2 years, Injects, PCOS diagnosis and 2 IUI's, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls! Baby Girl #3!
As soon as they came home from the NICU (Annabel was 12 days and Mack was 19 days) we started, if they were awake. I'm glad we did b/c Mack had/has some head/neck control issues. We were able to see this early on and get the attention it needs.
My babies were born at 36w5d. We started doing tummy time on our chests right away. That was the only way we could get it in without them crying. Around 4 or 5 weeks is when we started doing it on the ground.

Re: Moms of 36-37 weekers
Your girls are soooo little and cute, I can't remember mine being so small, but they were!
We started tummy time a little at a time from very early on, just a few minutes here and there then a little longer as long as they didn't fuss.

My guys were born at 37w3d. One hated tummy time and still does, the other likes it.
So we do traditional tummy time with our liker and with our guy who hates it, we spread it out and also did a lot of tummy time on our chests.
