I finally got a call from the lawyer

A lawyer we know well called my mom a week ago to see if we are serious about adopting, because a client consulted him about a relative considering putting a baby up for adoption. He said he would call me the next day, but I didn't hear from him until today. He asked again if we are serious about wanting to adopt and said that he has cases come in with some frequency. He said he didnt feel this particular case had much potential, but that the next time someone comes in and he feels they will follow through, he will call us. So, not the news I was hoping for, but decent nonetheless. It will be good to have him in our corner.

    Glad the lawyer called, I know you were waiting anxiously! Sorry it's not the news you wanted but glad you are hopeful about future matches. :)

    I have heard about a number of "possible" situations (not even almost matches, really, just expectant moms our lawyer has had contact with) and I get excited about each one. I like the hopeful feeling, and am continually reminding myself there is a very small chance each one will become a match, but that ONE of them will :)

    We are adopting! Currently waiting for our domestic infant adoption match.
