I've noticed lots of pressure too. This is my second child but it's been 7 1/2 yrs. I'm guessing it's probably just the baby growing or maybe the position the baby may be in.
Oh yeah, definitely pressure...but the doctor says since this is my 3rd, i'm feeling everything sooner. The muscles have already been stretch from the 2 previous births so they are looser and put more pressure on your hips and joints. She suggested wearing a maternity belt to lift my stomach up and ease the pressure.
I had a lot of preassure a couple weeks ago. My "what to expect" book said it's normal. However, I read this after I called my Dr. in a semi-panic (my husband made me panic) Anyways, I had pressure twice in a day and decided to call the Dr. He told me that it may be normal but to come into the office just to be on the saife side. He did an exam on me and told me in my case it was normal. I cervix was closed and still long. So now i just ignore my preassure. But I have an amazing Dr who told me to call him or any of the Dr's there with any concerns I have.
I think you should give your Dr a call and see about going for a check instead of guessing and worring.
I am so excited- this is my 4th pregnancy, I have 2 amazing boys ages 11 and 6. I lost a baby 2 years ago- this is my first girl! This pregnancy is so different from all the rest, right down to the oil in my hair. I have been diagnosed with gest. diabetes and also am having lots of right side hip pain (to the back, not front). Most days I feel like I need a cane or a walker or a wheelchair. Doctor has been great at addressing all my concerns except this one, to which he responds with "sounds like you're pregnant to me!"- A friend from church gave me some safe exercises to do (she has 9 kids). Are there any other ideas I can work with, for either the diabetes or the pain?
Maybe you should try Chiropractic...I am 25 wks with my first child and I get horrible low back pains and Chiropractic definitely helps... or even a heating pad.
The other day I felt my baby moving about every second for quite a while, it felt like it was a heartbeat. Is that what it feels like when they have hiccups? It worried me a little.
Woohoo week 25 and so excited! Just while typing this my little guy was moving all over the place, but kicking the lower right rib. For the first time it actually hurt. It sounds lame but I was kind of excited about this since it means he's growing stronger every week. I'm a FTM and am also experiencing hip pain. It was bad after waking up today. I think I was stiff. I'm going to call my chiropractor today and set up some appt.
I am pregnant with a girl and it is my first pregnancy. i have no idea if the girl thing is related but my hips hurt so bad sometimes I almost fall down. It is like they just give out on me. My dr. said it was from the cartilage loosening for my hips to spread. You may also be carrying differently which could be putting more pressure on your hips. Heat has helped some. I have also found that doing circular movements seated on an exercise ball helps. You can get them at Walmart for $10. Yours sounds pretty severe though. I would definitely keep mentioning it to your dr. and explain you never had this symptom in previous pregnancies and it is interfering with your quality of life. Sometimes dr.'s tend to ignore symptoms they shouldn't. Good luck!
I know this is an old post but to anyone who happens to read it-intense pressure in the pelvic area before wk 37 can be a sign of pre-term labor. Don't ignore it!:)
Hey all! Congrats on being at week 25 - only 15 more weeks to go. Passed my glucose test last week, I was glad I didn't have to go back. My husband and I tour the hospital this weekend so we are looking forward to that.
YAY 25 weeks... only two more weeks and it's the THIRD Trimester! This pregnancy has gone by so quickly. Thank the good Lord for such a wonderful pregnancy since my mom had a horrible one with me and ended up only have one kid.
I had my glucose test last week and that came back normal WOOHOO. The Doctor did some measurements and she is measuring bigger than what I am. I guess she is taking after her father after all. This Tuesday we start our classes for child birth. I am so excited I can't wait! I also have two baby showers planned for the month of april and will be setting up my Maternity pics and 4D sono sometime this month. I too am having lots of hip pain and after I eat I get tons of pressure. Seems to help when I stretch out on the couch. Other than the pressure, stretching and having to turn on each side every thirty minutes while I sleep I have been feeling GREAT (TYJ)
June 17th can't come faster God Bless everyone

don't go to a chiropractor...they are mostly all jokes(some are decent but very very few!) all they like to do is manipulate..they don't fix the source of the problem...heating pad or physical therapy is sooo much better!
At 25 weeks, I have no problem sleeping (can sleep anywhere, anytime!) or hip pain...still working out basically the same as pre-pregnancy (lots of spin classes) except no ab workouts on my back or bootcamp classes and yoga has more modifications.
The main discomfort I'm seeing is that when I go running, I have to stop to pee after every mile...and I run on a Key so the only restroom is in a 5-star hotel ,...though they have been super-accommodating, I feel weird asking all the time now.
It's a Catch-22..stay hydrated but you can't always be near a restroom!
I go to the chiropractor every two weeks. I don't know what I would do without him since I start to get really stiff after about a week after my adjustment.
Has anyone else had gall bladder problems? I had to go to the ER last week for what I now know was a gall bladder attack. The doctors' goal is for me to deliver baby before I have surgery to remove the gall bladder. I have 3 more months to go. I had an appt with the surgeon yesterday. He said there is a window of opportunity to get the gall bladder out while pregnant, but I have virtually missed that window.
The only thing I can combat the gall bladder with is a low fat diet and a medication, Class B, that will maybe keep my gall bladder going for the remainder of my pregnancy. The attack was sooooo painful, I was terrified for days it would happen again. I have actually lost 23 lbs. so far since I have been pregnant. I threw up every night from week 7 to week 21.
Sorry to go on about it. I am just curious if anyone else out there is having trouble too. There is nothing listed on the Bump web site about gall bladder problems that I can find. Of course the OBGYN assures me that pregnancy causes gall bladder problems in many pregnant women...really?
As for the person saying "don't go to a chiropractor"~I am not a fan of any sweeping generalizations. But I guess some people have bad experiences and feel certain ways. A heating pad doesn't "fix" anything. Physical therapy and chiropractic both can be great. I can say both have been helpful! There are many WELL qualified indivuals who remove nerve pressure and keep the nervous system working well. There are not so greats in every profession by the way. Whenever I need a service or professional, I get a referral from a trusted source.
those are probably just braxton Hicks they get stronger through your pregnancy I experience them all the time with my son. Contractions are back to back within a 2 to 5 minute time frame. I'm pregnant with my first I went into prelabor at 23 weeks was admitted for 5 hours and finally got a shot to stop the contractions my nurses and doctor is great. you should call your doctor if you are ever worried about pressure he/she will usually call back pretty fast!
I am 25wks and 2d today and I couldn't be happier. This is my second child, my oldest is 5 and I feel like a first time mom all over again. Having my first boy has definitely increased my excitment.

Its Braxton Hicks contractions. I'm having the same thing. I asked my doctor and she told me this is what it was. When ever you have to use the bathroom go right away because holding your urine brings on the Braxton Hick contractions and if your doing a lot of extra activities this will bring it on as well. I hope this helps =D
What were your symptoms? I have had so much back pain and burning pain lately and my chiropractor didnt fix it, tylenol and tums doesnt help and when i went to triage they wouldnt do anything for me since i wasn't throwing up.
I was having pain on my right back, right below my bra for weeks and thought it was a muscle but ice packs and tylenol doesnt work and the pain is now worse and more constant. And I also have a burning pain under my right breast and by my right rib and now its starting to happen on my left side as well. I take tums but no luck. I'm going to my regular docotor monday and hoping she gives me meds or runs tests to see if it is just my muscles. The pain is unbareable though : (

For there is a man inside me...and only when he's finally out, can I walk free of pain.
