How about anything you wish you had known very early into your first pregnancy?
My younger sister is KU with her second but I can not ask her anything. She thinks that it is her way or no way and does not even ask her OB questions, just takes ever work out of the man's mouth as law. It drives me insane!
I personally am not being overly nuts about can and can't do... I may get flamed, but. I have had lunch meat. I ate queso last night. I had a small (but wonderful) glass of red wine Saturday with dinner. I will not give up my spinning classes, they keep me sane.
Did you really use all the expensive baby bedding? I have had several friends tell me to just get sheets, and a bumper and maybe a skirt but not to buy the heavy blanket and decorative pillows that it is a waste...
Buying a stroller/car seat used, is that just gross? I can't get over feeling like it is disgusting, but I see the stroller/car seat combo (chicco key 30) all over CL almost brand new and I can't help but wonder... I know I will get it as a gift, but $300...?

It's typically not recommended to buy a used carseat. Carseats are basically a one time use item - once they're in an accident, they are no longer good, and for a used car seat you don't now if it's been in an accident or not. Also, they expire after a number of years, I think normally 5.
I'm all for buying a used stroller though as long as it's fairly newish and hasn't been recalled.

Baby Sister is coming soon!

Thank you They are the same style number I have registered for, but good info on the accident thing. Maybe I will see if they are willing to sell just the stroller and not seat/base.
It may sound b*tchy/snobby, but there is also a part of me that wants new things since this is my first... That being said I know I will get a TON of stuff from people since I seem to be "old" at 31 having my first

Oh man, that might be a stumper. Since I [obviously] know everything there is to know about pregnancies and babies, now, it's hard to remember back to when I knew nothing. (sarcasm)
One thing that does stick out in my mind is that I wish I had read more books on breastfeeding (well, feeding in general) before J was born. I, foolishly/arrogantly, believed that BF'ing would just come easily to me. I was so wrong, and it was an epic fail, and it all happened so quickly that I felt lost (without enough strategies/tools in place to even know how/where to ask for help) and I was an emotional wreck about failing. So, if you are planning to breastfeed, my advice would be to: attend every meeting, read every book, watch every video, and establish every support group that you can before LO arrives.

I have a hard time dealing with people like that, too.

Everything in moderation. You had me up until you mentioned spinning class. I haven't *really* exercised in probably 7 years.

No. It sounds like you have intelligent friends.

I buy a lot of used baby gear. In the beginning, I was all "I would never buy used anything for my baby." Then I came home from my baby shower with LOTS of clothing and very little essential baby gear. Suffice it to say, my boys now use/play with/wear a lot of other people's *junk*. That said, there is a safety concern related to using a used car seat if that car seat has been in an accident. However, I would not hesitate (have not hesitated) to buy used from someone I know/trust. In fact, I just sold our infant car seat to a friend of mine.

Give me just a few minutes, and I'll respond, in full, with my opinions.
I thought you were more the girlfriend arm pillow type. Just saying.

This just made me LOL. Gotta love Cincinnati and the "you're an old-washed-up-hag if you aren't married+3 kids by the time you are 30."
