We have Dr Brown's bottles (a ton of them), and I hate to buy different bottles. But, DS2 wants at least 8 ounces of formula for a feeding now, as in, the 8 ounces of water plus the formula, and it's too much for the bottles to hold without leaking everywhere. DD eats a lot slower and stops as soon as I take the bottle away, so stopping in the middle of a feeding to get him more formula is a PITA.
What did you do when your LOs got to this point? I don't remember my DS1 having this issue, but he was still smaller at 6 months, and was filling in with solid foods by the time he got hungrier.
Re: Strategies for feeding 8+ ounces of formula?
How much formula is he eating in a day? How does he do with solids? My first inclination is to say increase his solids.
That being said, if he's not drinking too much formula and is eating great. I would suggest trying out Avent bottles on him. They make super big ones (up to 11oz).

I mixed mine in a Dr. Brown pitcher also, but the biggest bottle my girls ever had was 8 oz. I would pour 8 oz of prepared formula into the Dr. Brown bottle.
Wondering also if you need to add more solids....
