sick baby, keep on schedule?

DD had a temp of 103 last night. She didn't sleep good at all. She woke up every 45 mins. We would binky her and she'd go back but it was alllll night long! I have kept her home from daycare today but i am wondering if i should still be keeping her schedule or let her sleep longer today?

WWYD?

  • My boys are teething, so have been up more during the night.  One has had a temp on/off.  We thought for sure he'd be down for nap a lot faster, but he himself kept to the schedule.  Napped a bit longer than usual, but napped at usual time (actual added a 3rd nap that day).

  • For the most part if my kids are sick the schedule goes out the window.  She needs her sleep.

Does she still have a fever?

You can get her back on schedule tomorrow- one day isn't going to have a major impact.

no she doesn't seem to have it today but i want her to sleep good so she gets over it quicker. I'll let her sleep. Thanks!

  • Yeah, if mine are sick, I let them sleep as long as they want to.  I have never had a problem getting them back on schedule once they are better.

  • I would totally let her sleep. I always try to imagine it is me. Like if I were sick I would want to sleep and would be mad if someone kept me up. I hope she feels better soon!

  • My girls just got done with being sick and night times were hell for a few nights because they weren't sleeping. They wanted to nap longer during the day because they were so tired. I let them because I figured if they are sick, they need their rest. It didn't take DD2 long at all to get back in the swing of things, DD1 was up about an hour longer than normal last night. But in the grand scheme of things, that's not so bad.

  • If my girls are sick or have a rough night I let the schedule go too.  Hope she has a better night tonight!
