Mom and I went to Babies R Us and it was sooooo overwhelming!! I don't know how people do this in one day. The only items that I feel really good about is the breast pump and bottles and things like that and that was only because someone helped us.. Everything else, I just wasn't crazy about or the prices were out of control....soooo, I will be going to Target by myself today and hopefully feel better about things when I am done there.
BUT, I do have a question. I want a stroller that has 3 wheels - one of the all terrain strollers. I love walking and plan on doing a lot of it with this kiddo. I found one plain stroller like this with no bells and whistles but I am afraid that he will be too small to be in it when I want to start going for walks. The other one that I found was the travel system and had the detachable baby carrier in it. I want the stroller AND the baby carrier, but don't know how to go about this. Any suggestions? I will register for that if that's what I need to do, but it was so expensive. Thanks for any thoughts.
Re: Tried registering last night.
It is definitely overwhelming, but I think you have to start and then add/change things over a period of time. It took me a few weeks to fully complete my registry b/c I had to research everything!
As for the stroller, I have the bumbleride indie and the car seat (chicco) hooks into there for when the baby is small. So whatever stroller you choose should tell you what car seats fit into it.
Good luck!
It's definitely overwhelming. I didn't try to do it in one day. I did research online, and with the Baby Bargains book, and did the major gear-type things... and some little fun things. Then I went online and finished the rest. It would have been too much/too long to do in person in one day. I went to Target another day and we did that one much quicker b/c there are fewer options, so it didn't take long at all. Good luck!
Registering is very overwhelming. I plan on bringing my bff who has had 2 kids to help me and my H.
I want a good walking stroller too and I think I have settled on the bumbleride indie. It's expensive, but I know I will be able to use it for a while, and I love to walk so I want one that will last and be comfortable. I went to an upscale baby store in my area to test them all out. The nicer ones are really worth it imo because they push so easily.
After 2+ years and multiple treatment cycles,
including an IVF vacation in Costa Rica/Panama,
IVF #2 brought us our miracle baby!
Surprise! Baby Boy is on the way!
We just registered yesterday too. Unforunately where I and my family live the closest BRU is 90 minutes away... so Target is pretty much our only option. Talk about frustrating. The selection in their store is so poor especially when you compare it to what they have online. I was overwhelmed too, but at least now I have something started and will probably be changing and adding as the weeks go on.
Good luck and have fun!
