3rd Trimester

so if you measure a week or two ahead, do they

automatically induce? what's the protocol?

Re: so if you measure a week or two ahead, do they

  • I have measured 2 weeks ahead since my u/s at 20 weeks and there has not been mention of induction at all.

  • I'm ahead, and OB said "we'll get him out one way or another". It doesn't change due date, or mean induction for me, just that he's currently a little big.

If he's breech at 37 weeks, she said we'd discuss c-section.

  • My doc said that if I'm measuring ahead (I think it was at least 10 days) they'll induce on my due date.

  • ahh i see., I thought they moved up your due date, but apparantly not.  tia for the "ask your Dr' smartass response!
  • I bounce b/t measuring ahead and measuring on time.  They told me the baby has growth spurts and they'll just wait and see closer to the dd.  I am getting a growth u/s at 36 wks since dh and I were such big babies though.
  • I look at it as, the baby is measuring ahead, but the baby is developmentally ahead.  I have been measuring between 1 and 2 weeks ahead now for the last 3 appts and the dr hasn't said anything about taking the baby early.  Since I am a VBAC I can not be induced, so if they wanted the baby out before my due date, they would have to do another C/S
  • I am measuring 10 days ahead and they haven't even changed my due date.  My doctor said they will induce once I hit 41 weeks.  Unless of course there are other issues that might arise before then.
