another myth--know anything about this one?

My nephew was born in July.  I am due in January.  Every time I hold him, he cries.  He doesn't cry for anyone else, except me!!!

 Someone told me that babies cry when the "sense" someone is pregnant?  Not sure if this is true or not. 

But they also said that the baby might "sense" if it is a girl or a boy. 

Does anyone know the story on this myth????  Just curious, since we don't know the sex.  It's fun to keep guessing and wondering!

I have never heard that myth and my experience has been opposite.  When my three week old neice would cry, laying her on my pregnant belly always calmed her down and got my baby kicking!  I think they sensed each others heartbeats!

What the hell?!? No, never heard it Why would a baby cry if they sense you are preg?

Last time I checked, a baby wasn't a dog. . .   Seriously though, my little baby always kicks when I have an infant patient but stays perfectly still when I have a toddler patient.  Maybe he is scared of the toddler patients. . .

I think it's really graet that you're waiting to find out.  If I ever do this again I'm going to wait.  Somehow it seems a little sad that the dr won't need to yell out "It's a Boy!" for us.  I've never heard of either of the OWT's that you mentioned.  My mom bought me a book early on that has every crazy way possible to tell.  Strangely enough, most of them were right.

no, not true. I held triplet boys (not at the same time) two weeks ago, and none of them cried.

Yeah I've never heard that before.

And I think those Old Wives, whoever they were, have a lot to answer for.

Oh well, I guess my cousin that told me that was trying to make  me feel better.   

 It really is sad that my cute little nephew cries when I hold him. I was hoping he was just jealous or something.  Now, I don't know why he cries!!    I was ready to go with the old wives tale!!  I hope he likes me sooner than later!!

I've never heard of this one before.  I highly doubt it's true.  I held my nephew who was born in July yesterday and he was out like a light.
