There's a big possibility that I may not be back in the classroom this year.  I was laid off in May, and school starts tomorrow so today is the last day to be recalled.  I'm waiting on a possible call for a maternity leave, so my fingers are still crossed for that.
I'm going through a whirlwind of emotions right now. DH is being very supportive and reassuring me that we will be okay and God has a plan for us even though we may not see it right now. My thoughts go from being okay to freaking out. I think of costs for our treatments and how we may have to take longer breaks. I think of how I'm going to deal with my in-laws who are always bugging us about money and my job situation. I plan on subbing in corporations close to home, but I think of what I'm going to do all day for a full year.
So any T&P you could spare would be great and for those of you who have been laid off - any money tips, what do you do all day, etc?
Re: I don't think I'm getting a job.
Hi there, as for what to do all day....I always joke and say I am busier now that I stay home, than when I worked full time. I save money by shopping sales, clipping coupons, cooking most of our meals from scratch, heck I bake our bread, etc now. I volunteer for a local tourist attraction....it is a old fashioned village with historic homes and such...I demonstrate spinning/weaving/knitting/etc. I am very active in a local knitting group and a county weaving/spinning guild and a state one as well. (I am a board member in both). I sew and knit most of our gifts/home goods. My friends laugh and call me Martha Stewart, but hey it gets the job done.
I do have a small online business (although have it shut right now) and I help my husband with his work as a Realtor, but that doesn't take a ton of my time.
I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis and that is a big part of why I don't work a full time job, when I flare I am useless. And we didn't want the stress of me working full time while we pursue IF treatments as well. I am lucky that I can stay home and I try to make the most of it.
Good luck to you!
