Newly pregnant- moving to Lincoln Park

And I am freaking out because the one practice that I am familiar with through my sister in law doesn't take patients that are already pregnant...? (Isn't that what OBs are for?)

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions? I currently live in DC and will be here until the end of September when I will be about 16 weeks.

Thanks for listening. I am kind of having a moment!

  • I also live in Lincoln Park, welcome to Chicago! I've been going to NMPG at 680 N. Lakeshore. I see Dr. Chen and I love her, but there are 6-7 other doctors there as well. They deliver at Prentice Hospital which is about 2 blocks from their offices. The number to the practice is 312-926-8811. Good luck!

  • I like the Women's Group at Northwestern. They also deliver at Prentice and are just two doors down from the hopital. I see Dr. Leavitt but have been rotating through all of the doctors (in case someone else is on call when I'm in labor) and they have all been great.

  • I also delivered at Prentice. Loved Dr. Hakimian at Progressive Care for Women.  I really liked all the docs in the group.  They are also downtown, 676 N. St. Clair.

If you want to stay right in Lincoln Park look for an OB at Illinois Masonic.  You'll find a lot of women chose Prentice though as its affiliated with Northwestern.  The hospital was wonderful.

    GL with the move.

This is the practice that won't accept me-- but I will try the others! Thank you so much!

  • Lakeshore OB/GYN.   They are also at 680 N Lakeshore and are awesome.  I delivered my son with them in November - Dr. Nadine Bolger is my primary (she's awesome) but I rotated through the other doctors and liked them all.

I also go to this practice and see Dr. Foley. I honestly love all the doctors there EXCEPT Dr. Starr. She was so rude to me during my pregnancy. But the other doctors are great and they have Midwives if that interests you.

  • I go to Northwestern Specialists for Women (nswobgyn.com).  They're located in the 900 N. Kingsbury building (which I love b/c it has convenient parking), and my friend switched to their practice at about 33 weeks because she was having trouble with her doctor.  So they definitely accept pregnant women!

I met all of the doctors in the practice throughout my pregnancy, and love them all.  You can't go wrong!

    They also deliver at Prentice.

  • I use Northwester Specialists for Women, also, and really like all of the doctors in the practice.

That's weird - I called when I was 6 weeks and they saw me two weeks later. I'm seeing one of their midwives. I've only been twice but I like them so far. Maybe worth a second call?
