Leaving the city ALREADY!?! We actually looked in Canton too, but obviously settled on Federal Hill- where we were already renting. We're sticking it out for another 2 or 3 years, though. Even w/ the little one!
Good luck w/ your move!

Haha, yeah - we built new construction and actually started before we knew we were pg! We figured the baby would be coming soon, and we only have 2 bedrooms here and don't want to give up the guest room. Plus, we have a drug house across the street which I'm REALLY not excited about - and we've both lived in the city (Boston, DC and B'more) for the past 10 years. Time for some country living Although we can't even get pizza delivery at our new house - I think we're in for a bit of culture shock!
I have a friend who moved from B'more to out near Harpers Ferry. Yeah- it was a HUGE culture shock for her- and she was moving "home"!
We LOVE being in the city. Have been here since '99 and in our house since '02. And want to stick it out as long as we can. Schooling is going to be the main factor in making us move!

I have a friend who lives in Dickeyville - it's still technically in the city (with all the amenities) but with big historic houses with big yards, and the neighborhood is awesome. I'd never heard of it before I met her though. Oh - and the houses there are comparable to row house prices ($300ish)!
I'm lurking...I live in Pikesville, just on the outskirts of Bmore. We looked at buying in Fed Hill, but we decided we desperately needed a yard... but MAN I wish I had won the battle, b/c I love baltimore

We live in Canton for about four more days - moving to the Eastern Shore on Friday
I had no idea you were in B'more!

There are some great private schools around here!
