Pregnant after IF

LO is big + possible induction

So my last 2 appts Dr has told me that the boy is measuring a little bigger than average. Not huge, 75th percentile but they have warned me twice now that at this rate they will induce me at 39 weeks. Its crazy and I must be all baby because I've only gained about 16-18 lbs yet he's so big.

I'm excited/nervous that we may meet the little guy sooner than we think, but at the same time I pray that I go into labor naturally and not induced. I want to experience my water breaking, and going through the whole process and most importantly my body/baby saying  "ok I'm ready now" versus having the Dr's induce but I have to accept that they know whats best and just let it happen.

Yikes, its starting to hit me a little more now!!!

  • Yeah for a big, healthy baby! That's great :)

  • Sorry it may not go like you planned, but just think if he gets too big you have a much greater chance of needing a CS.  He may also decide to come early on his own if he's a big boy, so try not to worry too much.  Yay for big babies and low weight gain! :)

my thoughts exactly. I have to trust that it may be better for my body to deliver earlier than have to go through CS which I don't want (unless I have no choice obviously). I will say I'd much rather have a big healthy baby than a little one with possible health issues!

  • Wow, what a big healthy boy you have in there. That part is great. I hope you go into labor on your own and can avoid a c/s and induction!

  • It will be great either way. But I'll cross my fingers for you that you get to experience natural labor.

  • That's exciting.  I hope your body goes into labor to get that baby out.  My sons were big and born at 38 and 39 weeks - I think my body knew that it was time to get them out.  Either way I know you can't wait to have your LO in your arms.
