I have a little name regret as well , my husband and i both have the initials MCS so we wanted to stay with that for the baby, i loved Mason right off the bat but once i told everyone there were a lot of people who knew someone who just named there son Mason. I looked for another name, but the M's were so limited and nothing was that spectacular to go against the MCS so we named him Mason. But we call him Bean all the time and have never really called him Mason it just doesn't seem to fit. I also used my maiden name for his last name cuase we thought it was cool and wanted to honor my father/family, but now it just sounds like he has a hyphenated name with no middle, so i kinda regret it as well. I agree that you can just call him Max.
