Cloth Diapering

Vinegar and Baking Soda

I'm just starting cloth diapering and I've read to use Baking Soda in the wash and vinegar in the rinse.  I was wondering what the amounts that people used were.

Re: Vinegar and Baking Soda

  • I use vinegar in place of fabric softener for every load of laundry I do. I have a FL though that has compartments so I just fill the "fabric softener" compartment full and send it on it's way... not sure how much exactly is there, sorry!

Never used baking soda in the wash for anything though, honestly. I use the eco-friendly family blog detergent and it contains washing soda...

  • IMO, you should only do this as a treatment. It can be pretty hard on the diapers.

I use a cup of baking soda and fill the fabric softener with the vinegar.
